The Story behind the Name
Latize (pronounced Lat-tice) is another word for framework or scaffolding. The name, in essence, represents the work that we do. We make sense of patterns in a structure, we connect the dots in what appears as random, disconnected pieces of information; we find inter-relatedness within bodies of information and create value out of this resource.
In any organisation, its members create information in their everyday business transactions. These bits of random information are actually quantifiable assets - a useful resource if a proper framework can be created for them. We create meaning out of random information, which in turn enables stakeholders to use them to improve business processes or drive business decisions. The ability to understand the relationships between different information asset classes and to develop actionable conclusions out of these relationships is what makes us good at what we do.
The Reason for Latize
The company came about through a realisation that the information management industry was in need of a niche service where information management strategies and expertise in its project implementations come together in one package.
The solution to an information management quandary does not begin with technology. You don’t start with the box, and try to figure out how everything else will fit within it. However, we seemed to find this problem recurring time and again in our interaction with our clients caught in this predicament. Be it a content or information management project, the approach more often than not, was to replace technology or IT systems with newer ones.
We saw where the problem was and understood where the solutions were to be found. We begin with our clients’ end vision in mind, and work out the information strategies to achieve these goals. Selecting the technology or delivery platform only comes after all this is done.
